any hints for a returning player?
-
Alright, I'll be a returning player soon, next weekend it seems, a lot has changed. is there a topic for all the how toos where to go and all that to set up once I get the game going?
I am pleased that Tych is still around having played a big role in bringing her back, I was that seer that brought her back, also you might know Mina barkhorn even better.

I remember Mina. We visited hell together once. I played Fifur by that time.
Welcome back!
It changed much, yes. Not -that- much though, you'll be fine.
Make a character who can walk around a server more or less alone, like a ranger.
Player numbers are lower than used to be.There is a player resources forum you might want to skim through before making a serious character.

Represent one of the gangs and be Straight outta Old Town

I think the absolute best resources you could ever have to figure stuff out in coa aside from the forum itself would be our IRC and Twitch Chat servers. Mainly because there are a lot of players hanging out there whom can answer any questions you'd have and give pointers, tips and tricks.

Here is the link to Twitch chat.
- Twitch chat is a voice chat, text chat and screen sharing app. The text chat on it works similar to irc except that messages in the channels are persistent, so you can write something down and people whom were offline can hop on and see it later.
The Link above is for an in browser app, but if you prefer a desktop app instead they have that too.

Here is the link to IRC.
- You might already be familiar with IRC since coa's had it for almost as long as it's existed. Just toss in your username in the nickname field and put #coa in the channel section and you're good to go.

Alternatively, join the Discord.

We need to toss Forte and Fritos into a mud pit and have them fight it out for chat room supremacy once and for all.

Nah, it's a pepsi vs coke type of deal. Coke makes an advert, Pepsi then advertises "we're better than coke" Coke doesn't care because everyone knows it's not true. Life goes on and people still pick their favorites.
Meanwhile everyone knows root beer beats both of them (aka IRC)I'm not about to diss on Discord because anyone who's tried both chat services know there's no real difference between the two.
The only features that one chat has over the other is that twitch is connected to your twitch account... That's about it, so the only reason to pick one over the other is really how many people you want to talk to are in which.
