Treasure Hunt Feedback
-
Hello folks.
For those of you that participated in one of the two treasure hunts I've run so far with Oleander, I would like some feedback. What were your thoughts, likes and dislikes, suggestions for improvements. Constructive stuff please, so I can make the next one even better.
For those that did not participate, what would make you join in on the next one?
Thanks,
- Minion

Maybe you could have people dress up as famous enemy groups such as Shadovar and Zhents and guard the treasure so they have to be subdued to take it.
Bable used to do things like that on Novo back in V4

Working a story into it would allow you to get some creative bards and other characters involved in the creation process of the treasure hunt. You can have "mini bosses" even part way through the hunt, (which are adventurers you hire to fight the treasure hunters along the way.
You can also have "NPCs" (hehehe) that give you hints, or cryptic clues as you reach a part of the hunt that seems to be a dead end.
Can also base the "Story" of the treasure hunt on actual events which have occured in CoA history.
-
Also means you can get people searching (on quests, and such) for items that characters in the story famously used, or items that at least look like them.
(Notorious infernalist ran about in a skull helm? put a bounty on the creepiest skull helm people can find, and have the "boss" at the end of the hunt wear it!)

A few good ideas to work with, thank you.
By "NPCs", do you mean actual npcs (which would require a dm present and interested, plus npc support IG) or do you mean players standing at the dead end waiting for the treasure hunters to show up?
treasure wise, what would people hope to find? Note, without NPC support, I have to find/make/buy the treasure myself or have generous pcs donate as well.

I meant players acting as the NPCs.
As for treasure, I'm sure your NPC support could help to some extent there.

Game within a game much?
