Traps and PCs

It seems that the point isnt getting across so I have to air it out here.
Today I stepped on traps in a certain area, which were laid there by players and unattended for. Some of them were also laid on Sewer grates. While its fine to try and trap someone from going into the sewers, most people coming from the sewers will spawn on the grates.I have made sure to ask the players who were with me online, if any of them laid the traps before confirming my suspicions and posting here. I have also a screenshot of the trap damage and where it occurred, if a DM requires them.
I am going to let a DM handle it.

There has been a spate of random traps in Old Town, alot of them, actually. I've set off maybe 15 myself. No storyline that I can see, participate, or enjoy. To quote Moloch "Its no different than randomly leaving traps around to kill random players. NO one is going to have fun if you do this and aren't making it interesting."

Stepped on one myself, right about where the choke point is in Old town

We want traps treated the same was as animals and undead. If you leave it somewhere, you need a reason and to be around.
-
If you have issues or notice something not quite right, report it to the DMs and let us handle it. :)

Spawning on top of grates that are trapped will not trigger any trap. Just like a chest that is trapped, you need to click it to trigger.
-
Still rather silly considering that leaving traps on a grate is pretty much indiscriminate FDing. If there were a note infront of the grate that said "the sewers are mine, keep out" the trap would totally be justified though.

People should try to relax a little.
If you set a trap, DMs get a message automatically.
The player setting many of these traps is not leaving them unwatched, just because you can't spot someone doesn't mean they are there.
But yes, we do have a policy on how traps are already used. We're aware Seter had a bad experience, but it was caused by a bug and not by a player.
-
The numerous traps I've seen laid about Old Town were all minor spike traps.
-
I think its cool someone is trapping Old Town. Creates intrigue and a heightened awareness that there is real danger in the area, and not from NPCs.

First I am talking about two different instances. Secondly while I can probably not spot the ones who place the traps, I do doubt they hide so well I cant see them on the Playerlist for 2 hours from and to the time the traps were triggered. This means the traps were left unwatched, unless it was a DM setting them.

Or Seter, it means someone lied to you OOC which is perfectly reasonable if they're trying to avoid potential metagaming.
