Dragon's Blood
-
Loremaster Wesda digs deep into the alchemical almanacs, esoteric knowledge and journals of adventurers, trying to find out why Dragon's Blood is such a potent ingredient for Alchemy. Is it just the magical nature and innate power of the monsters? If there is any mention why Dragon's Blood reacts with Star Iron, he will try to find out does any other type of blood do that as well?
If there is any mentions on Bloodstones somewhere, he will try to find out what kind of blood was used for the most potent ones.

From a book "Ruminations upon the Drake".
"Dragon's blood is believed to carry a potency due to the magically infused nature of dragons who use both the Weave and a primordial connection to the world and nature from the elemental gods."
A slim text on alchemical processes by Welnar the Burnt essentially states that none know why star iron reacts with dragon's blood, though there is a vague reference to a Mehotep the Mad Monk who theorized extensively on the nature of star iron and its properties. However, it is said that all his writings have been lost to history and many were hunted down and burned by the Churches of Mystra and even Oghma, though the author of the book you read believes that is merely a rumor as what knowledge would a priest of Oghma actually destroy?
There are books on Bloodstones in the library, you can read those and find what you find there!
