My favorite playstyle.

Several extremes. On one hand, the bloodthirsty savage. The devotee to Malar that bathes in blood beneath the moon, howling his Lord's name into the sky.
And then the smooth operator. The infiltrator. Stealth and subterfuge are everything. Getting caught is a sin, but a master can make it part of the plan. Death comes swiftly and from the unknown. The smallest strip of shade, and the darkened alleyways are a temple.

My favourite character by far to play is the dwarf.
At the moment, I'm playing the complete opposite to what I usually do, playing a fighter who is more focused on defending others and being a general help, being Gherren. Usually, I'm just playing a "Kili Ironbore" clone, the lovable barbarian who never really takes a side, cares about action defining a person over past prejudice, just doing things without a second thought.A strong sense of comradery over what is right and wrong, making friends and charging face first into anyone possible, killing things, and adventuring like a madman. A crazy hard hitting beserker with a great axe. Sticking to his guns even if he's going to die. If he says he never runs, he won't.
By any means, playing anything out of the ordinary.

I have two favourite archetypes that I always enjoy portraying. One is the unlikable hero. A goodly, just, honourable hero type that just doesn't get along too well with others. The other is the irrepressible scoundrel, though I usually play it towards good rather than neutral or evil. An undaunted adventurer with a witty tounge and jovial disposition. I've played alot of different stuff over the years, but all my fondest characters fall into one of those frames.

I'm always a fan of the clever quick witted evil geniuses who's idea to better society through some ridiculous plan which turns everyone into a zombie or something.

i tend to do rogue ranger types or monk types more recently. in pnp i tend to dip a lot.
-i'm not great at organizing, so avoiding spellcasters and things with upkeep. my inventories get messy, my quickbars need tidying/ optimizingi like stealth cuz i can do stuff without fighting all the time. it seems unrealistic to think you will fight and beat anything you encounter, especially in a high powered magic setting like forgotten realms.
i sometimes do solo stuff, because i can be picky about who i have my current main adventure with. in a high evil server, things get dangerous fast. my own personality tends to be avoidant of conflict, so maybe that spills into avoiding pvp sometimes in game too, in the sense of like avoiding ooc conflict.
oh i guess i have a paladin too. i've played that in 4e. a dragonborn paladin of bahamut.
wizards in 4e tend to be a bit easier tho.
i'm not great at pvp. partly mechanics and coordination, not just being meek.
i liked being a spiritually in tune nature person or philosopher and sometimes comes out more than it should with some characters, because i value these in real life somewhat.
i tend to be a jack of all trades support character, switch between melee and ranged, but often hang back doing ranged with other more powerful characters around… i like being able to do locks and traps and scouting...
i kind of like exploring maps and finding hidden areas and stuff...
i don't like being rushed.
i often forgo quest trains for rp sessions... but i don't mind going on someone's quest train sometimes and tag along, get some xp's and loot.i personally like to try to find something in game that resonates with what i want to do or learn in real life, so the game is supporting my growth in a way in something ... everything can be a learning opportunity...
i know the alignment system, i've played a lot. i probably tend to avoid chaotic neutral at least in the random insane way, and being overly lawful... ng is probably my fav, and true neutral and chaotic good are probably next.
i tend to sometimes break character or be silly.
I had a schtick where my wood elf ranger had a sun elf wizard inferiority complex, and pretended to be a powerful evil wizard to get the e-gurls. i totally had a costume for him to change into. his chr was low so i rp'd him bluffing horribly frequently... i would pretend to be in disguise wearing stuff like garish clothes/ pothelm etc ... so parodying sometimes certain things which i think are funny, including making fun of me and my own characters... cuz sometimes you either laugh or you cry lol.i like writing stories but when i'm not sure of the story i want to tell or background, sometimes i don't put in a diary, so i can start to get the feel of a character, and then shape the story i want to tell.
I'm still playing the same main since the start of v5, which is based on a character i made before and played in pnp, and a kind of style of character i've started to play a lot ... ranger basically. the monk i made is rehashed and from stories etc i've written as well.I kind of hope to get story ideas through playing the game, even if the stories go nowhere or are chaotic and confusing on coa.
I could play more different kinds of characters, but i really like the faction that my main was briefly part of, and kind of still want to pursue its goals a bit... also elf rangery lol not drow tho ;)long and ranty forgive me.

Ive found that I can do things, but subtle is not one of them. I like the "diving head first" type of characters, be they good or evil. I would love to play the scheming, under the radar type of leaders, but I end up bored due to a lack of progress. I like the epic stories of good and evil crashing, epic duels to the death, each side trying to prolong the conflict until it blows up.
However, I also like characters with personality. Their motivations must be real, even if unrealistic in their desired ends. -
My favorite playstyle is versatility and supports. I love to play characters that don't pigeonhole themselves into any particular role but instead attempt to carry out a variety of missions. Characters that blend versatility with non-combat utility skills such that they're always contributing, even if they're not doing as much as the main fighter.
I've only played one character without magic so far in years and years on Arabel. I like to cast spells I guess.

Support/observer characters, usually neutral (mostly good-inclined), extensive background story, with a trait that means they will get involved in all the action but also possess an unreliable streak so that when I can't be bothered logging in (or waste several half days sleeping) they have an ic excuse for not being around lol.

Scheming, malevolent, backstabbing, double-crossing, silver tongued and entirely evil characters are the most fun.
