Shameless self promotion
-
Hello all.
Some of you know me and have played for years with some of my characters (most are on the server for ages any how). I'm attempting to try and step out of my current job as a cook and become a freelance digital artist. Plenty of you have seen my work and are familiar with what I've done but some people have not. So I am going to attempt to be a bit of a self promo whore here and see if any one is looking for stuff I can provide. I hope that this is OK with the DM's. If it isn't I'll remove this post post-haste. Also tell me what you think of the work…honestly.
Thank you.

I really like the ship and the dragon ones. The others are really good too, but the faces leave a little bit to be desired in my opinion. They seem a little fake in comparison to their surroundings - if that makes sense. But all in all - Wow, very very well done.

The ship is awesome and the dragon really good.
PaleRose, I think what bugs you is the lack of cast shadows and occlusion on those images. Especially the last one. The top of the face should logically be in shadows cause of the hood but it seems lit up instead, and the skeletons should casts shadows all over the place. Why it feels strange.
On the lost soul, its probably the bump that is too intense. The scale shader on that dragon is really nice. The texture is rich and detailed and the shading gives it good dimension.
Did you make that ship from scratch? The water effect is really cool. Wish I had learned more 3D rendering techniques like water/fur/cloth and particles… It looked sooo complicated....
oh and what softwares you use, out of curiosity?

Well besides Photoshop some of the models are crafted in 3D studio max however most are Poser models morphed with Zbrush. The ship was imported to Vue Xstream. A wonderful program that helps with landscapes, foliage, and water.
Thank you for the comments. I'll post a few more as Matriarch hasn't shut this thread down.

Regarding Hush, the hand seems too large and lacking some texture, maybe needs some hair on it perhaps and make it dirtier. He seems a bit rough and unclean to me.
The Kraken is amazing, that one I like alot. What it needs is water droplets cascading off it as it just rose out of the sea, grabbed the heroine and threatens to kill her. It needs to look wet.

Awesome stuff.
Needs more sultry maidens though.
