Pick Pocketing..

Okay, so I had a conversation with someone earlier about pickpocketing. I thought I could make it fun and for RP. But I was told that its not and its for "bullshit greifers" and people work to hard for their gold on this server to do so. I looked in older forums and people said if you RP it right it can be fun for most people. I had no intention of just constantly pickpocketing people to accumulate my gold. Ive played on and off for the past 4 years and know that people work hard for there items and gold. But I would like new thoughts on this.
I would never stealth pickpocket. And would always RP something when I done it. (Which I was told couldn't be done properly anyways) and would only do it to my mark once every week or two weeks. My marks being only people that wronged my halfing which I thought would be even better RP because they would know why my PC was doing it to them, and I would RP giving their stuff back in front of a crowd to embarrass them or try to sell it back to them.
If you Roleplay it right can pickpocketing be fun for everyone?

Yes. I believe that PP is bugged at the moment. The DCs are stupidly high.
That said. Whoever it was you were talking to was spouting bullshit. It is permitted so long as it is done with a care to not picking peas pockets dry. A pocket here and there is fine.

Course if you get caught anyone who sees it can beat you up and drag you to the guard.

I don't think so. Last i tested this, DCs were random (from single digit to three) and you failed even if you beat the DC.

You can PP but currently it's broken so making a concept wth it in mind is a no go as it's been broke for at least 8 months now with no sign of being fixed.

Major NWNx error we can't work out. Best way of getting around it is to try and use a dot command instead of the radial menu option. Unless the script for PP can be directly editted, but I think it's hardcoded. Of course, if anyone knows anything about NWNxDefence and can enlighten the team, it could probly be fixed. Assuming that's actually where the problem is.
