Crafting guide?

Is there some sort of document on what is needed for the basics of crafting? a listing of what changes have been put in by Arabel for the craft various craft skills?
I've seen people requesting changes to the brew portion and craft wand skills, wans't sure if there was a document someplace one could go to in order to learn the basics of crafting, or refining in game… of course, I guess I could learn to craft the way one would in the outside world...apprentice to a master and learn that way.

There is the CoA Wiki I think.

So it looks like you just need to take a 'Craft X' skill and apply it to whatever you craft you really wanted to do? Ok, thanks, I'll give it a shot and see how it goes for me.

Crafting is relatively simple. You don't need to take any of the "craft" skills when you level up - these don't effect anything. Just right click on your character, go to "Special Abilities", under this there is a "Choose crafting skill" - Select which you want to take, then you just basically need to gather wood, ore, ingredients, and recipes - which can be found off of monster drops, in shops, or other pcs. You'll get a crafting book and you can keep track of what you have that way after you pick.
You can also only pick one, so make sure you know what you want to do.
Hope that helps.
Wand crafting and Potion Brewing are taken via feats. Wand crafting you just buy wand, cast spell on it, put on wand crafting table and follow dialog. Potions you have to buy recipes or find them, then you just right click the recipe and use it's special power after memorizing the spell relating to the potion. Some recipes are unlimited use, others have a shelf life of however many.

Thanks Pale Rose…so I don't have to take craft X to be a wood worker, or Craft Y to be a weapon smith...I'm so used to taking Craft weapons or craft armor from when I played PnP games that it just seems odd to me to not have to do that. and that there is no skill check when you go to create a Bow (for instance).
-
There is a skill check you get better skilled at crafting the more you practice your craft.
-
ahhh, secret skill that you don't have to put points into, those are the best ones! I need one of those for 'to hit'…..
-
Yes, basically as you craft things, you level your skill. You'll find many of the recipes that you have are "Hard" or "Impossible" but as you level, they shift - and so on. It's a fairly easy process to do.
-
The best part is that Woodcrafting, Blacksmithing and Alchemy aren't level dependant and you don't lose points if you die.
-
Cool, so a lvl 1 could be an expert crafter, they build, they don't level…thats nice for RP...boring if thats all your ever doing, but nice if that is what you want to be doing.
-
It's very handy if, like me, you regularly lose a couple of levels. It means you can still craft that fancy item that is the pride of your product list without having to grind for XP to get your skill points back.

Yeah, the only problem is gathering the things you need to craft.
Some are in places very far away.
Some are dangerous to get.
Some are expensive.
