Search vs Spot
-
….. IE: Since you're inspecting plants for alchemical purposes, the best PC to bring along would be a druid gnome with points in Spot ....
This Reminds me of something I've meant to ask.
The description for Spot and Search mentions that Search is for finding traps and Spot is for finding hidden creatures.
What is a secret door considered? Do we need Spot or Search for such? or Both?
Not looking for exact formulas, just a general idea. -
Search for hidden doors
-
Kind of on topic, but, with rangers, which is used to track? In PnP, Search is the skill. Is that the skill in CoA?
-
Both if I'm correct. Along with lore and animal empathy to identify the tracks.
-
Wow. That's a lot of skills to track. Too many, really, considering the Ranger's paltry 4 or 5 skill points per level.
-
You can track fine with search and spot which are a ranger's first choices. Lore is to find out the type of magical creatures and stuff while AE is for finding out what animal made the tracks. So I usually ditch lore… It is enough to know something is at a certain direction.

kinda off topic… but it shouldn't be lore and heal?

And lore for magical creatures, if i remember correctly.
I think it's explained in the mechanical changes forum.
