On Playing Evil and PvP

I'm taking a bit of a break due to OOC fallout of PvP and I felt it was best to just remove myself, as the catalyst to today's PvP, so that others can have an enjoyable experience, however before I go, I wanted to impart a little bit of wisdom that I learned from my two most successful villains, as well as learned from DM's an several other good villains.
If you are playing something evil or against the natural order of things you must be prepared for a few things:
1. Be prepared for PvP - This doesn't just mean combat, I mean people opposing you. If you are playing something sinister, evil, monstrous or bad, you have to be ready for conflict. Allies will be harder to find and joe paladin isn't going to like your shadowmancer, were-wolf, necromancer, etc. If you hope to achieve your goals and have any fun at all you are going to have to engage in conflict. This is both verbal and sometimes direct combat at times. If you don't like PvP or can't handle it, play a neutral character who doesn't get involved in any plots. This leads me to my next point…
2. Be prepared to lose - Arabel is a more "realistic" server in that Good does not always win. In fact many times evil wins for a long time until good finds a way to triumph. You still, however, have to understand that you are a bad guy. Good guys are going to want to stop you, and they may succeed. Hell, even rival bad guys might try to undermine you. The overall point is if you can't be happy without winning, this is not the path for you to follow. So far, some villains have lasted months and months and months, but in the end they do something so bad that someone wants to off them. Happens to heroes too, but its more dangerous as an evil character.
3. Be Prepared to Die - The first thing the DM team told me when I made my first IC infernal pact was "If anyone finds out you made a pact with a demon, they are fully justified to kill you on sight and you will be perma-deathed." This was a fact I understood and accepted because if you are playing a monster race, a necromancer raising dead, a bloodstone user, an infernalist, or any other really really bad guy, then you have to understand that if you do enough evil, you will become "Kill on sight." If you are truly afraid of your character dying and you cannot handle it, then you shouldn't engage in such acts that could lead to your perma-demise.As they saying goes: "If you can't do the time, then don't do the crime." If you aren't ready for the implications of your evil actions, and can't handle the OOC of having your character PvPed IC, then don't do anything to bring it on. This might just be my stand-point but if someone discovers your grand plan to destroy Arabel, you've gotten ridiculously close to your goal, you've made pacts with demons and killed people, and multiple NPC's in high places want you dead then you have created enough of a story in your own right for someone to PvP you. At that point they shouldn't have to warn you ahead of time, give you a chance to run and let the odds be stacked in your favor for a fight. Angry mobs have lynched people in real life for less.
There is one last thing I want to say before I go. Its something I was guilty of once way back when I first started playing and I learned the error of my ways and eventually even commended the one attacking me IC for his RP. Leave IC as IC and OOC as OOC. If someone's character's goals conflict with yours, or you have an IC argument with someone, don't take it OOC. That player might have nothing against you, they are just doing what their character needs to do. There is nothing that makes me not want to play more than getting OOC hate mail tells due to PvP IC. In fact I may never participate in PvP again just because of it to be honest.

If there's something specific you want to address, send a PM to the team with screenshots / logs.
People who give hate tells are going to get a royal smackdown. Even if you think someone deserves hate tells, it's not a player's job to tell them what is or is not right or wrong. The player will simply report said person to the DMs and let us handle it.

Will your death also be permanent?In most case, villains will cut off your head and stick it on a pole.
So you will probably die, just like most people will do for the villain.

Only a DM can enforce permadeath. Players may choose to permadie, but no player can force another player into it.

please return.. i just discovered your character and found him very refreshing, the RP was quite the unexpected pleasure, it is not often i get gob smacked by some new nuance of RP, i got complacent and thought i had seen everything (which i enjoy seeing and encountering by the way, so please everyone keep doing what you are doing) and you hit me with something new and note worthy
i always have fun when i log on, but the level of fun really rose yesterday when we had our RP session, and you actually schooled me on a few things, i was really looking forward to seeing your character again (or for that matter any character you drop onto the server)

Will your death also be permanent?In most cases a villain shouldn't kill you en-less with a lot of built conflict, thus one thing that irritates me sometimes is fresh characters die to pvp within a week and can ruin the potential for a great character. I have yet to kill someone purposely with my villain characters because if I did win, I would find someway to build conflict and letting them live because in my opinion this is just funner for everyone and they get that juicy chance at revenge, en-less of course a long lived char wishes a good ending with a perma death.
