RE: Out of Game / Leaving Thread
Alright, I'm gonna be disappearing for a while, so as of now all of my characters are put on hold.
Might be a week, might be a month. Might be a few months.
Probably not forever, but I'm not ruling it out of course.

RE: Helping out with ehbilz concepts
I've had something in mind, but like with Zaviron I already have a character right now.
I've done very few Evil concepts in the past. I usually stay Good or Good-leaning, so it'd be good to break with tradition sometime in the future.

RE: Prestige Classes: What's Wrong?
I too, have had a problem in the past (and still to some extent) with knowing when to app.
I hate hearing "EiG" because I never know when the appropriate time to send in an app is - or whether I even should.

RE: When your time is limited..
I'm losing more and more time as well, and I'll very soon not be able to invest as much of it as I've done in the past. So I, likewise, need some guidance on this. I do not think I can keep up my current thing of being in charge of a faction, for example. But I hope I will be able to.

RE: A few thoughts
@joekickass as far as I know, the reason you're being threatened has just about zero yo do with the fact that you're playing an Old Towner or Chaotic character and just about everything to do with the way that your character acts.
You can't want to play a character who says "to hell with the establishment and the status quo" and then assume that the ones who have vested interest in those things will just leave you alone when you're flaunting it.
Though in one of the cases I think you're referring to, your character getting in trouble had literally nothing to do with any of that either. It was an ethical disagreement that was mostly had woth your character and ANOTHER Chaotic aligned character.

RE: A few thoughts
Which film? There's like a million of them. Some of the original stories of Robin Hood are specifically about a commoner fighting for the restoration of the True King and against the depredations of the tyrant who currently sits on the throne. The assumption is that the True King would make everything better for the peasants, so Robin Hood is alright with breaking the laws and strictures of the tyrant since he considers them illegitimate, and they are portrayed as such in the stories as well.
It's pretty clear that there are some fundamental aspects of the Law/Chaos axis that we don't really agree on. Not much that can be done about that, it's a common problem with the rather simplistic system D&D makes use of. Still, I'm definitely not sold on the idea that Chaotic concepts don't work on CoA, based on the fact of what I've seen. There are plenty of Chaotic concepts that have thrived. I've played Chaotic concepts that have thrived. But when your concept includes an invitation to constant opposition, there's going to be constant opposition (and that's not a bad thing, I mean, you want to have opposition otherwise things are boring).
And yeah, we're definitely playing different games, because I don't agree with you at all on that. Though I'd prefer not to talk about specific incidents since those can be discussed to hell and back, and you're never gonna get every perspective on the matter (and that's the whole point).
If you want something to exist in the game, make it exist. Get people together, get them organized. Get them angry. That's how you affect change in the game-world.
